Court for the Southern District of California to transfer the pending patent
infringement litigation filed by ChromaVision Medical Systems, Inc. against the

http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2004/Apr/1031954.htm Genesis
Microchip Inc., a world leader in the development of image processing
technologies for LCD monitors, flat-panel televisions and other consumer display
products, today announced that the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) has
issued an initial determination that Mstar Semiconductor, Inc. infringes Genesis
Microchip's U.S. Patent No. 5,739,867 entitled "Method and Apparatus for
Upscaling an Image in Both Horizontal and Vertical Directions." As a result of
today's ruling the ITC is expected to issue an exclusion order preventing the
importation of Mstar's display controllers into the United States, as well as
monitors and boards containing these products. "We are delighted with the ITC's
decision today," said Eric Erdman, interim chief executive officer of Genesis
Microchip. "We believe that our technology embodied in the winning patent is
fundamental to providing low-cost scaling solutions for flat-panel monitors and
entry-level flat-panel televisions."

Personal identification method and
apparatus using acoustic resonance analysis of body parts
Abstract: An
acoustic spectra personal identification system comprising acoustic signal
generating means, acoustic transducer means and computer means including storage
means, processor means and acoustic signal analysis means, whereby a data base
may be generated and maintained that stores acoustic resonance spectrum
information specific to selected body parts of known individuals, for comparison
against newly captured acoustic resonance spectral information obtained from an
identification subject and for determination whether said subject's acoustic
spectra matches that of a data base participant.

Individual discreet prompting
device with remote
Abstract: A remotely
activated sensory stimulation device comprised of a case, a tactile stimulatory
means, a receiving unit, a transmitting unit and a controller. The amplitude and
frequency of the tactile stimulation is adjustable to provide different prompts
or to alter the prompt. The device is further camouflaged with a second
functionality to eliminate any social stigma. The device is useful for teaching
individuals with a variety of learning disorders including Autistic Spectrum
Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder.

Plug-and-play smart data
cable The invention includes a smart, plug-and-play cable capable of
transparently translating between two different communication protocols. The
cables are "plug-and-play" such that two devices can be coupled together for
communication without the requirement that the user perform any special set-up
steps in order for it to work. To implement this plug-and-play functionality,
the smart cable of the present invention determines which communication
protocols are required at each of its ports, and selects, activates, enables, or
downloads the appropriate communication protocol drivers to enable proper
operation.
Electric shaver having orbitally moving blades An
electric shaver includes blades which while rotating around their own centers
also orbit around another axis, thus providing that the blades sweep a large
area.
Implantable fuel cell This invention makes use of an
electrostrictive material to increase the efficiency of a fuel cell as used
for the production of power within a human.
