Index Pfizer Prevails in Accupril Patent Suit http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040630/nyw100_1.html Pfizer Inc said
today it has prevailed in a patent infringement suit in which Teva
Pharmaceuticals USA Inc. (Teva), was seeking approval to sell a generic version
of Pfizer's blood pressure medicine Accupril (quinapril hydrochloride). In a
June 29 decision, Judge Dickinson R. Debevoise of the United States District
Court for the District of New Jersey held that Warner-Lambert's patent on a
stable formulation of quinapril (U.S. 4,743,450), was valid, infringed and
enforceable against Teva. The decision affirmed the court's previous findings of
infringement and validity. The court also rejected Teva's allegations that
Warner-Lambert had committed inequitable conduct in obtaining the patent.
Index No Allegra patent infringement, court rules http://www.timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=262791&category=BUSINESS&BCCode=&newsdate=7/2/2004 Barr
Pharmaceuticals Inc. said Thursday that a U.S. District Court judge in New
Jersey has ruled the company didn't infringe three patents involving Aventis
SA's Allegra allergy treatment. Five other patents remain in litigation, and
Aventis and Albany Molecular Research Inc., the Albany-based drug-discovery
firm, are challenging two others, Barr said in a statement. Those cases probably
will be ready for trial by the middle of next year, it said. Barr and four other
companies are seeking to make generic versions of Allegra, Aventis'
second-best-selling product. The French drugmaker and Albany Molecular, which
licensed technology to Aventis, claim in their own suit that five generic-drug
makers are violating patents scheduled to start expiring in 2013.

Nipple hugger jewelry system
Abstract: A wire is
fabricated of a semi-rigid material. The wire may be bent by a user. At least
three primary sections are formed. A nipple reception circle is located between
the primary sections. The circle has a center. Each primary section extends
radially outwardly from the center of the circle. A pair of end sections are
formed. Two stem sections extend radially from the circle. An interior point is
formed. An exterior point is formed. The end sections and the stem sections are
oriented in a common plane prior to use. The end and stem sections are movable
to an orientation with the end sections overlapped into a locking relationship
when the circle encompasses the nipple of a user. The interiors of the primary
sections are in holding contact adjacent to at least three spaced points around
the nipple of the user.

Plug-and-play smart data
cable The invention includes a smart, plug-and-play cable capable of
transparently translating between two different communication protocols. The
cables are "plug-and-play" such that two devices can be coupled together for
communication without the requirement that the user perform any special set-up
steps in order for it to work. To implement this plug-and-play functionality,
the smart cable of the present invention determines which communication
protocols are required at each of its ports, and selects, activates, enables, or
downloads the appropriate communication protocol drivers to enable proper
operation.
Electric shaver having orbitally moving blades An
electric shaver includes blades which while rotating around their own centers
also orbit around another axis, thus providing that the blades sweep a large
area.
Implantable fuel cell This invention makes use of an
electrostrictive material to increase the efficiency of a fuel cell as used
for the production of power within a human.
