The judgment in favor of Engineered Products Company of Waterloo was entered in U-S District Court for the Northern District of Iowa. A jury determined in May that Minneapolis-based Donaldson, which makes filtration products, had infringed Engineered Products' patent, and set actual damages at five-point-three (m) million dollars. Index Embrex Files Patent Suit http://www.localtechwire.com/article.cfm?u=8999 Embrex filed a patent suite on Wednesday against a New Jersey firm, saying the company “infringed” on its in-ovo (in egg) injection system. The suit, filed in federal court, seeking “injunctive relief and monetary damages” from AviTech of Hebron, MD. Embrex said it also wanted a jury trial. "Invention is a critical component of our business strategy, and we are proud of the success we've had in patenting what we have discovered, designed and commercialized," said Randall Marcuson, president and chief executive officer of Embrex. Index CyberSource Sues Retail Decisions for Patent Infringement http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040813/sff015_1.html CyberSource Corporation (Nasdaq: CYBS - News) announced today that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Retail Decisions, Inc. and Retail Decisions plc. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. The complaint alleges that Retail Decisions' eBitGuard product uses technology covered by U.S. Patent No. 6,029,154, "Method and System for Detecting Fraud in a Credit Card Transaction Over the Internet." The application for the patent was filed in July 1997 and the patent was issued to CyberSource in February 2000. CyberSource is asking the court to enjoin Retail Decisions from infringing CyberSource's patent as well as for an award of damages adequate to compensate CyberSource for the harm resulting from Retail Decisions' infringement and treble damages based upon Retail Decisions' willful infringement.
