Infringement Lawsuit Against Bausch & Lomb Surgical for Scieran Technologies
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/041018/nym181_1.html General Patent
Corporation of Suffern, NY, has announced today that it has filed a patent
infringement lawsuit, on behalf of Scieran Technologies, Inc. of San Juan
Capistrano, CA (Scieran), against Bausch & Lomb Surgical, Inc. of San Dimas,
CA (Bausch & Lomb). General Patent Corporation International (GPCI) of
Suffern, New York, a leading contingency patent enforcement firm, is the
exclusive licensing agent for Scieran and is representing the company in the
licensing and enforcement of its patent portfolio. The suit was filed in the
U.S. District Court of Delaware. Scieran is represented by the prominent IP
litigation boutique Levin and O'Connor. GPCI retained Levin & O'Connor on
behalf of Scieran after licensing negotiations with Bausch & Lomb reached a
dead end. The complaint alleges that Bausch & Lomb Surgical Inc, a unit of
Bausch & Lomb, Inc., manufactured, used, sold and/or offered for sale a
disposable high-speed vitrectomy cutter, without the rights or license from
Scieran, in infringement of Scieran's US Patent Nos. 6,629,986 and 6,258,111.
Scieran seeks unspecified compensatory damages and a permanent injunction
against Bausch & Lomb. Index PalmSource settles Digeo

become a licensee of technology covered by Digeo's 5,734,823 patent and related
patents, and Digeo has agreed to dismiss all legal claims. The two companies
also agreed that for a period of five years, neither company will assert their
patents in each other's business segments. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Method of shared erotic experience
and facilities for same
Abstract: A method
of sharing erotic experiences includes providing a building with a number of
compartments, entertainment viewable from inside the compartments and surround
sound music audible throughout the building, participants entering the building
and go to the compartments, starting the entertainment at a proscribed time, and
turning on the power from a central control booth at a proscribed time to a
stimulation device for sexual pleasure found in each of the compartments. The
facilities are such that sounds from the participants are transferred between
the compartments, such that couples or individuals in one compartment can hear
others in the building also experiencing intense sexual pleasure. The individual
compartments may further contain a whirlpool tub with jets starting at a
proscribed time. Importantly, security is provided to maintain order in the
building, and regular cleaning and sanitizing of the compartments and
stimulation device is provided.

Plug-and-play smart data
cable The invention includes a smart, plug-and-play cable capable of
transparently translating between two different communication protocols. The
cables are "plug-and-play" such that two devices can be coupled together for
communication without the requirement that the user perform any special set-up
steps in order for it to work. To implement this plug-and-play functionality,
the smart cable of the present invention determines which communication
protocols are required at each of its ports, and selects, activates, enables, or
downloads the appropriate communication protocol drivers to enable proper
operation.
